If you need quick defense and a protected shooting platform, this is the shield for you. This 12" x 23" shield weighs in at 7 lbs., 13 oz. and stops all handgun rounds up to .44 mag. and .357 Sig. While defending yourself, your shooting hand can rest on the shield cut-out for better targeting performance. With an ambidextrous handle, foam padding for forearm comfort, and a Velcro retention strap for improved grip, you are ready to defend or go on the attack at a moment's notice. The shield is a composite laminate made of fiberglass reinforced thermoset resin and designed to defeat a projectile through a process of controlled delamination and energy dissipation. The shield is coated with a layer of polyurea (truck bed liner) as you would find on ballistic plates. While the shield is solid, remember it is rated for Level IIIA protection only, i.e. handguns.
